About Ibn Battuta Metro Station
Ibn Battuta metro station (R39) is a Red Line station in Zone 3, situated in the south-western part of Dubai between Jabal Ali (R38) and Energy (R40). The station is named after Ibn Battuta — the 14th-century Moroccan explorer who travelled more than 120,000 kilometres across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, and China — and is directly integrated with the Ibn Battuta Mall, one of Dubai's most distinctive retail destinations. The station provides one of the most convenient metro-to-mall connections in the city, with a covered air-conditioned walkway leading directly from the fare gates into the mall.
About Discovery Gardens & Ibn Battuta — Metro Station Area
The Ibn Battuta metro area covers two distinct zones: the mall and hotel complex immediately adjacent, and the large Discovery Gardens residential community approximately 800 metres away. Discovery Gardens is one of Dubai's densest residential developments, with over 250 low-rise apartment blocks housing tens of thousands of residents across six themed clusters — Zen, Mediterranean, Contemporary, Mogul, Cactus, and Mediterranean II. It is a predominantly budget-to-mid-market residential community, popular with young professionals and families working in the Jebel Ali Free Zone or commuting to central Dubai.
