Green Line — Frequently Asked Questions

The Green Line operates the same hours as the Red Line: Sunday to Wednesday from 05:00 to 00:00 (midnight), Thursday and Saturday from 05:00 to 01:00, and Friday from 10:00 to 01:00. The late Friday start is due to the Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) window. Check the RTA Dubai app for any adjustments on public holidays or special events.

Take the Green Line to Gold Souq station (G22). The station is the closest metro stop to the historic Dubai Gold Souq and is within easy walking distance of the Spice Souq and Deira Old Souq as well. From the Red Line, change at Union station (R18/G20) and take two stops north on the Green Line to G22. The whole area — including the Perfume Souq and waterfront abra crossing — is easily accessible on foot from the station.

The Green Line has two interchange stations with the Red Line. Union (G20/R18) is in Deira near the Al Ittihad Road junction, and BurJuman (G26/R19) is in Bur Dubai beneath the BurJuman Centre mall. Both interchanges are free to use within a single journey — your Nol card fare covers travel across both lines without an extra charge when you transfer within the gate.

The Green Line has 20 stations, numbered G11 through G30. It runs in a crescent shape through northern Deira and down through Bur Dubai. Stations G11–G19 are in Zone 2, while stations G20–G30 are in Zone 1. The line opened in stages, with most stations operational since 2011. Note that BurJuman (G26) is shared with the Red Line and does not have its own separate Green Line entry in some timetable materials — it is referenced as both R19 and G26.

Yes. Dubai Healthcare City station (G28) sits directly at the entrance to Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) — the world's first purpose-built healthcare free zone. The station gives direct metro access to Mediclinic City Hospital, the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine, and dozens of specialist clinics. Adjacent stations Oud Metha (G27) and Al Jadaf (G29) also serve the wider healthcare and medical corridor south of BurJuman.
