About Salah Al Din Metro Station

Salah Al Din Metro Station (G19) is on the Green Line in Zone 1, serving the commercial corridor of Salah Al Din Road in central Deira. The station is one stop from Union (G20/R20), making it the final Green Line station before the major interchange that connects to the Red Line. The Salah Al Din Road commercial strip — electronics, textiles and everyday goods — lines both sides of the street at station level.

The station opened in September 2011. Salah Al Din Road is one of Deira's main commercial arteries, running through a dense urban grid of offices, budget hotels, fabric merchants and the lanes approaching Al Ghurair City mall. The station serves shoppers, office workers and residents of the Deira residential blocks that surround this part of the city. On Fridays, the adjacent Al Musallah area and nearby mosques see significant foot traffic from prayer attendees.

The station sits elevated on Salah Al Din Street in central Deira. Al Ghurair City — one of the UAE's oldest shopping malls, renovated with restaurants and a cinema — is approximately 700 metres on foot. The Deira Covered Souq, popular for affordable clothing and household items, is about 600 metres toward the Creek. Ibis Hotel Deira City Centre is 500 metres from the station, a popular budget accommodation option for Deira visitors.

From Salah Al Din Metro Station you can reach Union Metro Station (G20/R20, the Green–Red Line interchange) in about 2 minutes heading toward Etisalat. Baniyas Square (G21) is 2 stops in the opposite direction, approximately 5 minutes. Gold Souq (G22) is 3 stops and about 7 minutes for the heritage souq district. For the Dubai Frame or the Red Line corridor, a platform change at Union provides onward access within a few minutes more.

Salah Al Din Metro Station is used by shoppers on the commercial strip, budget hotel guests, students at nearby educational institutions and office workers in the Deira commercial buildings. The Zone 1 Silver Nol Card fare is AED 3.00. Bus routes 5, 10 and C10 from the station extend coverage into the residential side streets of Deira and along the Al Ittihad Road corridor toward the Creek.

About Salah Al Din — Salah Al Din Metro Station Area

Salah Al Din Road is one of central Deira's busiest commercial streets, running through a district where office buildings, budget hotels, electronics shops, fabric merchants and street-level trade mix in a dense urban grid. The station sits along this commercial artery with the immediate surroundings active during business hours and quieter on Friday mornings before prayer. The neighbourhood makes for practical rather than tourist shopping — electronics, fabrics and everyday goods rather than souvenirs.

Al Ghurair City at 700 metres is the nearest full-service shopping centre — one of the UAE's oldest malls, renovated with an updated food court and cinema. The Deira Covered Souq at 600 metres in the Creek direction is more traditional: clothing, household goods and budget retail in a covered passage that is particularly busy on evenings. The Ibis Hotel at 500 metres is one of several budget hotels concentrated in this part of Deira, catering to transit travellers and business visitors.

Bus routes 5 and 10 from the station cover the Deira residential side streets and Al Ittihad Road, while C10 provides a Creek corridor circular. Al Musallah Roundabout at 300 metres is a reliable navigation landmark in the area. For Union Metro Station — two stops north on the Green Line — the metro is faster than the bus for that hop. The Zone 1 Silver Nol Card fare is AED 3.00 for most Green Line journeys from this station.
