About Al Ras Metro Station
Al Ras Metro Station (G23) sits on Baniyas Road in one of Dubai's oldest districts, making it the best metro access point for old Deira's heritage trail. The station is next to The George Hotel, and a 10–15 minute walk brings you to the Al Ahmadiya School Museum (Dubai's oldest school, free entry), the Heritage House, and the Dubai Creek Abra station where traditional wooden boats cross to Bur Dubai for AED 1.
The surrounding streets of Al Ras are packed with the Deira souq network — the Spice Souq, the textile and clothing markets, and the waterfront dhow wharfage are all within a short walk. The Gold Souq metro station (G22) is one stop away, but the walk from Al Ras through the heritage lanes is itself worth the detour.
