About Mashreq Metro Station
Mashreq metro station (R33) is a Red Line station in Zone 2, located in the Al Barsha 1 area between Mall of the Emirates (R32) and Dubai Internet City (R34). The station is named after Mashreq Bank — one of the UAE's oldest private banks — through RTA's naming rights programme. It serves the Al Barsha residential community, one of Dubai's most established mid-to-premium expatriate neighbourhoods, as well as workers commuting through this section of Sheikh Zayed Road toward the media, technology, and education corridors to the south.
About Al Barsha 1 — Mashreq Metro Station Area
Al Barsha 1 is the core of the Al Barsha district — a mid-density residential area that developed primarily between 2003 and 2010 with a mix of villa compounds, apartment blocks, and small retail strips. It is one of the most popular neighbourhoods for expatriate families and professionals who want good metro access while living in a less dense environment than Downtown or JBR. The street network runs south from Sheikh Zayed Road and contains dozens of small restaurants, cafés, pharmacies, grocery stores, and service businesses catering to the resident population.
